INTRO TO VEGAN COOKING

In this free workshop, Chef Kristina will discuss the basic techniques of vegan cooking, including plant based substitutions, where to purchase ingredients, and where to go when dining out in Louisville. Food samples from V-Grits will be available as well.

Launching her food business under the name The Vegan Temptress, Chef Kristina J. Addington started cooking professionally in Louisville a decade ago wholesaling vegan desserts and managing a small cafe. In 2014 Chef Kristina used the prize money from a cooking competition on the Food Network to launch the V-Grits food truck (an acronym for vegan girl raised in the south) with a focus on southern style vegan comfort food.

V-Grits has taken many forms over the last decade, including a meal service, a product line, a full service restaurant and brewery, and now resides inside Logan Street Market serving fast casual vegan comfort food. In addition to being a business owner and animal rights activist, Chef Kristina is a mom to her five year old son Andrew, a health food and fitness enthusiast, and a vintage toy collector.
